USAID Announces New Programs Fostering Peace Between Palestinians and Israelis

USAID announced seven new programs to foster peace between Palestinians and Israelis under the People-to-People Partnership for Peace Fund. These programs aim to empower youth, equip women, and connect civil society to advance peace in their communities. Through the Nita M. Lowey Middle East Partnership for Peace Act (MEPPA), USAID promotes coexistence, dialogue, and reconciliation by addressing common challenges such as healthcare, economic growth, women’s empowerment, technology, and the environment. MEPPA partners include diverse Israeli and Palestinian civil society organizations committed to bridging divides and fostering a shared future.

Enacted by Congress in 2020, MEPPA provides $50 million annually for five years. To date, MEPPA has given 29 awards to promote cooperation between Palestinians and Israelis.
