U.S. Commerce Department Adds Dozens of High-Tech Chinese Companies to Entity List

On December 15, the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security announced that it is adding 36 primarily Chinese entities—including memory chip maker Yangtze Memory Technologies and surveillance technology firm Tiandy Technologies—as well as nine Russian entities to its Entity List for their involvement (or significant risk of involvement) in activities contrary to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.
