Taliban Will Close NGOs Employing Afghan Women

According to a recent AP article, the Taliban announced that Afghan and foreign NGOs employing women will be closed. This latest crackdown was announced by the Economy Minister on X stating, “In case of lack of cooperation, all activities of that institution will be canceled and the activity license of that institution, granted by the ministry, will also be canceled.” The UN has already warned that this dictate will impact their ability to provide humanitarian aid in Afghanistan.
