Senate Lawmakers Press Marriott for Data Breach Answers

Marriott International Inc. is facing pressure from members of the Senate Commerce Committee for answers about its massive data breach that exposed information of up to 500 million guests. Current and incoming chairs John Thune (R-SD) and Roger Wicker (R-MS), and committee member Jerry Moran (R-KS) wrote to Marriott on December 3, asking for further details of the hack into its Starwood guest reservation database. “Protecting consumers remains a key priority of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation,” they wrote, requesting a response within two weeks.
