Section 889 Prohibitions Expanded from Procurement to “Use”
Beginning on August 13, under Section 889(a)(1)(B) of the Fiscal Year 2019 NDAA, the government is prohibited from contracting with an entity that substantially uses equipment or services from specified Chinese companies such as Huawei, even if it is not used in performing the contract.
