Mississippi pharmacist Mitchell “Chad” Barrett and Louisiana marketer Thomas Wilburn Shoemaker have pleaded guilty to a multi-million-dollar scheme to defraud TRICARE and private insurance companies by paying kickbacks to distributors for the referral of medically unnecessary prescriptions for compounded pharmaceuticals.
