OFCCP Grants COVID-19 National Interest Exemption

To facilitate response efforts for the COVID-19 pandemic, OFCCP recently granted a three-month National Interest Exemption for contracts providing COVID-19 relief. This exemption extends to all affirmative action obligations of supply and service and construction contracts, as well as other obligations under Executive Order 11246, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974. This exemption does not apply to the processing of complaints of discrimination under applicable regulations, nor does it exempt covered contractors from their obligation to comply with other federal, state and local civil rights laws.

OFCCP has released a set of FAQs regarding the exemption.
