OECD Confirms Germany as Leading Corruption Enforcer

A new report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development suggests that Germany is a leading enforcer of anti-bribery statutes, second only to the United States in the number of enforcement actions and amount of sanctions. Published by the OECD Working Group on Bribery, which was created to monitor and promote the implementation of the 1997 Anti-Bribery Convention, the report assessed German enforcement activity and identified a total of 67 cases resulting in sanctions against 328 individuals, and 18 cases resulting in legal persons being held liable, all since 1999.
