NYSBA Eyes Mandatory Cybersecurity CLE Credit, Citing Attorneys’ Heightened Cyberrisk
The New York State Bar Association is taking one step to ensure its attorneys know how to adequately protect themselves from cyber attacks. The association has approved a recommendation to require New York attorneys to take at least one CLE credit under the “Ethics and Professionalism” category devoted to cybersecurity, every two years. The proposal now goes before the New York CLE board for consideration. The amendment would sunset after four years if not reenacted.
