New Executive Order Targets WilmerHale
On March 27, 2025, President Trump issued another executive order taking aim at a law firm: WilmerHale. The order states that, among other things, WilmerHale engages in partisan representation to achieve political ends and employs lawyers—i.e., Robert Mueller—who weaponize prosecutorial power to upend the democratic process and distort justice. As with the other law firm orders, the WilmerHale order directs agencies to suspend the security clearances held by members of the firm and to terminate federal contracts on which WilmerHale has been hired to perform services.
