New Accreditation Body Chair Wants CMMC “Boring Again”

Jeff Dalton, the new chair of the CMMC Accreditation Body, hopes to make the DoD cybersecurity regulatory program “boring again” by minimizing the atmosphere of a tech start-up and emphasizing a more corporate structure of strategic advisors. Dalton, who has been a member of the CMMC-AB since it was founded in 2020 and was previously its vice chair, says that his leadership will be marked by more vocal advocacy for the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification as an asset to businesses of all kinds, not just defense contractors.
