Navmar Pays $4.4 Million to Settle Double-Billing and Cost-Shifting Allegations on Navy Contracts
Department of Justice – Navmar Applied Sciences Corporation will pay $4.4 million for its alleged double-billing and other misconduct on contracts to develop new intel-gathering technologies for the Navy.
Navmar allegedly billed the U.S. Navy for labor and material costs on one contract, then billed for those same costs again on another contract. The DOJ maintains that the company also shifted material costs from one contract on which those expenses were not covered, to other contracts where it could be paid for them, in violation of FAR rules against doing so.
