Medical Device Company Agrees to Pay Over $17 Million to Resolve FCA Allegations

Medical device company Covidien LP will pay more than $17 million to resolve allegations that it violated the False Claims Act by providing free or discounted marketing and physician practice development support to physician groups for the purpose of inducing the purchase of its catheter products.
