Iranian Espionage Group Now Launching Ransomware Attacks

An Iran-linked threat group—known as Charming Kitten, Cobalt Mirage, and other aliases—which historically has engaged in effective cyberespionage against governments, journalists, critical infrastructure, and others, has reportedly been involved for the past several months in financially focused ransomware attacks.
