FCC Bans New Huawei, ZTE Imports

The FCC has voted unanimously to ban the import or sale of new communications equipment made by Chinese companies Huawei and ZTE, as “an unacceptable risk to national security.” The order also affects video surveillance equipment from Hangzhou Hikvision and Dahua Technology, which now cannot be used for public safety or national security purposes.
