FAR Overhal Deviation – FAR Part 16, Types of Contracts

The FAR Council has also released the FAR Overhaul deviations to FAR Part 16, Types of Contracts. According to the GSA memo approving the deviations, the revisions clarify the procedures for selecting a contract type and give the acquisition workforce new tools and flexibilities. The changes include innovative contract types that enable contracting officers to utilize novel contracting structures, simplification of task and delivery order procedures to enhance consistency, and on-and-off ramps to maintain current competitive pools of vendors on multiple award contracts.
