FAR Interim Rule – Prohibition on Contracting for Certain Telecom and Video Equipment

The FAR Council has issued a second interim rule amending the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to require offerors to represent annually whether they offer to the Government (1) telecommunications equipment or services produced by Huawei Technologies Company, ZTE Corporation, or any subsidiary or affiliate of those entities; or (2) video surveillance and telecommunications equipment produced by Hytera Communications Corporation, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Company, or Dahua Technology Company, or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates.
