EU Court Says Dynamic IP Addresses Constitute Personal Data
In a recent ruling, the Court of Justice of the European Union concluded that the dynamic IP address of a website visitor is “personal data” under the Data Protection Directive, when it is under the control of a website operator capable of compelling an internet service provider to identify an individual based on the IP address.
