Drug Testing Lab Pays Nearly $12 Million to Settle False Claims Act Allegations

The Department of Justice has entered into a settlement agreement with drug-testing laboratory Sterling Healthcare Opco d/b/a Cordant Health Solutions, resolving allegations that Cordant paid millions of dollars in illegal kickbacks to Northwest Physicians Laboratories and Genesis Marketing Group in exchange for referrals of urine drug tests, which were paid for by federal healthcare programs such as Medicare and TRICARE.
