Draft Mandatory Data Breach Reporting Regulations Released for Comment in Canada

The Government of Canada has published proposed new data breach regulations, setting specifics for the 2015 Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, which requires a report to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if it is reasonable to believe that the breach poses a “real risk of significant harm” to any individual.
