Michael Granston, Director for Civil Frauds in DOJ's Commercial Litigation Branch, says the department will take more aggressive action to dismiss qui tam cases it deems frivolous, giving defendants new hope they can extricate themselves from meritless cases without incurring further legal costs or agreeing to unnecessary settlements.
