CISA Advisor Calls for Modern Security as a Standard Cloud Feature

Alex Stamos, a member of CISA’s new federal advisory committee, has said that cloud service providers should not be allowed to market baseline security features as upgrades with an additional cost, calling the practice “immoral” and “unethical.” He has called for an executive order requiring any cloud service sold to the federal government to include multi-factor authentication, single-sign-on, and basic auditing as standard features, like air-bags are in a new car.
