CFIUS Reviews of M&A Deals Get Broader, Deeper, and More Detailed
Morgan Lewis – In this Bloomberg Law Insight, Morgan Lewis partner Giovanna Cinelli writes that reviews of foreign direct investment transactions by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) are broader, deeper, and more inclusive in the current geopolitical environment. Investors should increase their due diligence, she said, starting with expanding export controls and sanctions compliance checklists, and doing “know your customer” research when parties deal with sanctioned countries.
