House Sends Bill to Rescind Billions for Foreign Aid and Public Media to the White House

Government Executive – The House has recently passed a Rescissions Act that aims to rescind $9 billion in funding previously approved for foreign assistance programs and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. With a narrow margin of 216-213, the bill drew opposition from moderate Republicans who joined Democrats in objecting to what they view as a violation of the separation of powers.
