CISA Transforming EINSTEIN into “Cyber Analytics and Data System”

With the federal government's “EINSTEIN” cyber defense system showing its age, CISA is asking for $450 million in next year's budget for its new “Cyber Analytics and Data System.” The new system is a “restructuring” of the older one, and is described in the budget documents as “a robust and scalable analytic environment capable of integrating mission visibility data sets and providing visualization tools and advanced analytic capabilities to CISA cyber operators.” The system will integrate data from multiple sources, ultimately providing a single data repository for CISA’s cyber analysts.
