DOJ Urges SCOTUS to Review Issue of Intent in Safeco Decision

The DOJ has argued that the Supreme Court should overturn a decision by the Seventh Circuit concluding that a supermarket chain's alleged overcharging of Medicare and Medicaid was “objectively reasonable” under the False Claims Act, because subjective intent matters under the law.
