Small Private Suppliers Would Not Fall Under Proposed SEC Climate Rule

If the Securities and Exchange Commission implements proposed rules requiring publicly traded companies to disclose their climate-related risks, small privately held suppliers will not be forced to report on their carbon footprints, SEC chair Gary Gensler told lawmakers during a hearing of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
