NIST SP 800-171 to Become Explicit Defense Contract Evaluation Criterion

While not an automatic deal-breaker as it will be under the CMMC, Defense contractors may soon have to show compliance with NIST SP 800-171—Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations—as part of their evaluation criteria.
