Defense Contractors Increasingly Targeted for Cybersecurity Attacks

In an interview with Federal Drive, Black Kite senior vice president Jeffrey Wheatman says that 3/4 of defense contractors have experienced the leak of at least one network credential within the past 90 days, a dramatic increase from the last time the firm reported. “When those credentials get out there, they become a very, very big attack vector,” Wheatman says. “And unfortunately, as much as we have been recommending, for years, a lot of organizations are still not doing strong authentication or multi-factor.”
