Langevin, Water Industry Criticize EPA Cybersecurity Efforts as Inadequate

Representative Jim Langevin (D-RI) warns that the Environmental Protection Agency “faces challenges in meeting its responsibilities” to protect the cybersecurity behind the nation's water supply, a situation that “simply cannot continue.” In a speech hosted by the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, he called for the EPA to be “appropriately resourced and empowered to fulfill its critical mission.” The Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies has criticized the EPA for using a water quality survey to assess cybersecurity readiness.
