Solarium Co-Chair Objects to Cyber Ops Authorization Changes

Representative Mike Gallagher (R-WI), co-chair of the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, has criticized the Biden Administration for giving the State Department greater input into certain cyber operations by the DoD, saying that the arrangement “risks undermining our national security.” The change partially reverses the previous administration's National Security Presidential Memorandum-13, which gave the DoD new authorities to engage cyber adversaries without first getting approval from the White House.
