FCC Chair Sees Agency Filling Role Assigned to CISA

In a speech to the Interagency Cybersecurity Forum that she had convened, FCC chair Jessica Rosenworcel spoke about the lack of consistency between industries and jurisdictions about what information is reported about incidents, as well as how and when, and she proposed “using this forum as a place to work toward greater convergence on these matters.” This is a responsibility that Congress recently assigned to CISA in it incident-reporting law: to work out agreements with sector specific agencies with their own reporting requirements, to determine how to share information about avoid duplication of effort.
