Government Publishing Office Tells Congress of Need for Data Protection Laws

The House Committee on House Administration heard testimony on the need for new comprehensive federal data protection laws, which chair Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) called “long overdue.” Hugh Halpern of the Government Publishing Office – which serves as a repository of government data – described the steps his agency takes to protect personally identifiable information from exploitation.
