Executive Order on Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contracts

Smith Pachter McWhorter – On September 9, 2021, President Biden issued a new Executive Order on Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, which creates COVID-19 safeguards for those working on or in connection with federal “contracts or contract-like instruments.” The Executive Order necessitates all contracts and contract-like vehicles with the Federal Government to incorporate a clause requiring the contractor and subcontractors at any tier to comply with all guidance published by the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force (Task Force Guidance).
