Colonial Pipeline Paid $5 Million Ransom

Colonial Pipeline reportedly paid a cryptocurrency ransom of nearly $5 million to DarkSide, the threat group whose software was used – for a percentage of the payment – in an attack that led to the temporary shutdown of the fuel distributor's systems.
