Ransomware Task Force Presents Recommendations to DHS

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas pledges to implement recommendations contained in a new report from his department's Ransomware Task Force, titled “Combating Ransomware: A Comprehensive Framework for Action.” Its 48 recommendations include establishing a federal Joint Ransomware Task Force, forming an international coalition focused on ransomware, sanctioning countries that fail to take action against threat actors, requiring victims to report when they pay a ransom, and formally designating ransomware a national security threat.
