Treasury Sanctions 6 Russian Tech Companies for Cyber Attacks, Allies Support Naming Russia

Among other formal sanctions by the U.S., the Treasury Department has hit six Russian technology companies with sanctions, for supporting Kremlin intelligence agencies engaged in “dangerous and disruptive cyber attacks.” The most prominent is Positive Technologies, which has partnerships with Microsoft and IBM, and more than 2,000 customers in 30 countries, including European banks Societe Generale and ING, Samsung, SK Telecom of South Korea, and BT (the former British Telecom).
