Biden Budget Request Includes Major and Numerous Technology Initiatives

President Biden's first discretionary funding request to Congress outlines a $1.5 trillion spending roadmap that includes $500 million for the Technology Modernization Fund, another $110 million for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency on top of the $650 million from the American Rescue Plan Act, $128 million to expand research at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and “$750 million as a reserve for Federal agency information technology enhancements.” Overall, the proposal represents a 16 percent increasing in non-defense spending over fiscal 2021.
