Florida Water Treatment Facility Hacked, Poor Security Configuration Cited

An incident at the Oldsmar, Florida water treatment facility, in which a hacker tried unsuccessfully to raise levels of sodium hydroxide to levels unsafe for drinking, was apparently made possible by lax data protection strategies and exploitation of insecure desktop sharing software, in this case TeamViewer.
