United States Files False Claims Act Complaint Against Drug Maker Teva Pharmaceuticals Alleging Illegal Kickbacks

The United States has filed a False Claims Act complaint against Teva Pharmaceuticals and Teva Neuroscience, alleging that they used purportedly independent foundations to pay kickbacks, in the form of hundreds of millions of Medicare co-pays for their multiple sclerosis product Copaxone, while raising the price at more than 19 times the rate of inflation.
