GAO to Suggest More than 100 Ways to Secure Federal IT Supply Chains
An upcoming report from the Government Accountability Office will include more than 100 recommendations for federal agencies for mitigating the risk of foreign interference in IT supply chains. Expected in September, the report represents the first in-depth review of agency processes to protect global supply chains, according to Carol Harris, director of GAO’s IT and cybersecurity team. Harris called the results stunning. “The vast majority of agencies lack comprehensive processes in order to effectively manage their supply chains,” she remarked, adding that GAO may suggest lawmakers add supply chain risk management to future FITARA scorecards.
