Funds Today, Investigation Tomorrow: SBA OIG Warns of Serious Concerns of Rampant Fraud with COVID-19 Relief Funds and Calls for Immediate Action

The Small Business Administration's inspector general has issued a report titled, “Serious Concerns of Potential Fraud in the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program Pertaining to the Response to COVID-19.” OIG identifies and summarizes serious concerns of potential fraud and calls for immediate attention and action concerning the emergency funding provided under the grant programs created pursuant to the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, the CARES Act, and the PPP Act.
