Legal Issues in Corporate Investigations in Times of Lockdown

India is currently in a national lockdown, which has impaired the ability of compliance professionals in carrying out investigations. Due to the uncertainty about the duration of this crisis, companies are conducting internal investigations relying on technology and electronic documents. This new reality is leading to issues that need to be tested on legal principles, some of which may involve the application of laws not intended for these situations, but that could still be applicable. Those investigation-related issues include conducting of interviews, data collection, and concerns faced by the companies post investigation.
