Crafting a Company Response to Coronavirus: Six Steps for Doing the Right Thing

Leo Martin of GoodCorporation argues that compliance teams need to ensure that everyone in their organization understands that normal rules still apply, even during the COVID-19 crisis. In fact, they may even face heightened scrutiny over their response. He suggests six key steps that compliance officers should be taking:

  • Prioritize health and safety.
  • Keep the code of conduct top of mind.
  • Conduct virus risk-mapping.
  • Be aware of the increase risk of fraud.
  • Keep abreast of any temporary suspension of regulation.
  • Maintain contact with third parties and suppliers.
