Pentagon Prohibits Personnel from Using GPS Services in All ‘Operational Areas’
On Monday, the Department of Defense issued a sweeping order prohibiting all personnel from using geolocation services on their personal and government-issued devices in all “operational areas.” Effective immediately, the policy applies to smartphones and tablets, as well as fitness trackers, smartwatches and all other applications with geolocation features.
