Senate Bill Hopes to Sort out Supply-chain Cybersecurity Risks, Prevent Next Kaspersky Drama
A new bill introduced by Senators James Lankford (R-OK) and Claire McCaskill (D-MO) would establish a Federal Acquisition Security Council, which would issue guidance on IT threats, including supply chain risks like those presented by Kaspersky Lab and ZTE. The inter-agency council would include representatives of the intelligence community and Defense Department, and be chaired by an Office of Management and Budget official.
