French Data Protection Authority Imposes a Record €250,000 Fine to Optical Center for a Security Breach on its Website

In a case that pre-dates enforcement of the GDPR, but under a national law which anticipates its requirements, the French Data Protection Authority has imposed a record €250,000 fine on Optical Center, a French company, for insufficiently securing the personal data of its customers.
