Huawei, ZTE Get the Boot in House-Passed Defense Bill
The House-passed version of the annual defense authorization bill would bar all government agencies and federal grant recipients – civilian and military – from using technology provided by the Chinese telecommunications providers Huawei and ZTE, on the grounds that it could be used for espionage by the government of China.
