First Corruption Monitoring In France

A new post on FCPA Professor discusses the application of France's Sapin II Law, which introduces new legal means for fighting corruption, including the creation of the Agence Française Anti-corruption (French Anti-corruption Agency; the “AFA”) and a new legal instrument, the Convention Judiciaire d’Intérêt Public (Judicial Public Interest Agreement; the “CJIP”), which enables prosecutors to reach settlements with companies involved in corrupt activity.  The post addresses the CJIP procedure, the first CJIPs applied to corruption, and what to learn from them.
