VDOT Contractor Sentenced for Fraud Scheme
Contractor Shaheen Sariri has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit honest services fraud in relation to contracts with the Virginia Department of Transportation. Beginning in 2013, VDOT employees Anthony Willie and Kenneth Adams used their official positions to negotiate bribe agreements with several owners and operators of trucking and snow-removal companies in northern Virginia, including Sariri. In exchange for obtaining snow-removal work, the contractors provided Willie and Adams a percentage or a flat rate of their hourly contracts as cash payments.
